In practical terms, a conversation inside a Premium booth is inaudible just one metre away, and outside office noise barely penetrates the booth. The −25 dB of the Lite series is enough to suppress speech noise and give you privacy for calls and focused work; the −35 dB of the Premium series is for confidential meetings. These are not numbers pulled out of thin air — acoustic test reports are available on request.

Can people outside hear me during a call?

In Premium and WorkPod — practically not: the certified insulation attenuates the speech range, so to people nearby your conversation becomes an unintelligible, muffled murmur. With Lite, colleagues will hear only a faint hum with no distinguishable words. For genuinely confidential conversations (interviews, legal or financial consultations) we recommend Premium or WorkPod.

The booth wall is a multi-layer structure: an aluminium frame, a sound-absorbing layer and the finish, which together attenuate noise. The door is sealed with a patented perimeter gasket (UA 147003, UA 150386, EUIPO RCD 015018000) — it is what stops sound from leaking around the door contour. The glazing is three-layer laminated glass that preserves the view and daylight without compromising insulation.

Does it get stuffy inside?

No. Every booth has its own forced ventilation rated at 250–600 m³/h with an occupancy sensor: air is supplied at the top and extracted at the bottom, with a complete air change every 2–3 minutes. The fan runs quieter than 30 dB, so it does not get in the way even on long calls.

Both matter for an office: the first guarantees quiet for concentration, the second — the confidentiality of your meetings.

Yes — that is the Custom model. Our own manufacturing facility in Ukraine, with a warehouse hub in Poland for EU logistics, lets us build a structure of any shape with insulation of up to 45 dB, in your colours and with your branding. A good fit for non-standard spaces, banks, government institutions and R&D labs.

A rule of thumb is one phone booth per 8–12 employees plus one or two meeting pods per floor; teams with frequent calls increase the ratio. But that is only a starting point: the real need depends on the floor plan, how often people join online meetings and the number of open-plan desks.

A booth needs no construction, permits or re-planning — it is installed in hours and plugs into a socket, whereas a built meeting room means renovation, time and being tied to the premises. The frame is aluminium, the walls are multi-layer acoustic panels, the glazing is laminated glass. The materials comply with CE, RoHS and REACH, the wood-based boards carry formaldehyde emission class E1, and the finishes are fire-safety class B1 (flame-retardant). The booth can confidently go into the offices of international companies, banks and government institutions.

Cloud is a booth as a revenue source for public venues (shopping centres, airports, coworking spaces). Visitors book and unlock it via an app (iOS / Android) or a QR code and pay by the minute with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card; access is controlled by a TTLock smart lock. It runs 24/7 with no staff and comes with a centralised analytics dashboard. A revenue-share model is available.

What about internet and mobile signal inside the booth?

The booth isolates sound, not radio signals — Wi-Fi, 4G/5G and Bluetooth work as usual inside, so you stay connected. The glass surfaces and ventilation ducts do not create a Faraday-cage effect. If the signal in a particular office zone is weak to begin with, a wired LAN connection can be routed into the booth for guaranteed stable internet during important meetings and video calls — independent of how congested the office Wi-Fi is.

Yes, as a separate option. We integrate a sprinkler system and smoke / fire-alarm sensors into the building's overall safety system — often a code requirement for large offices and public spaces. Maintenance is minimal. The glass and exterior panels are wiped down with regular surface cleaners; fabric finishes are dry-cleaned or vacuumed. The key task is periodic ventilation servicing: cleaning or replacing the filter keeps the air fresh. You can do it yourself or book scheduled maintenance from our service team, which also checks the sensors and electronics. The booth requires no complicated procedures.

No. Silentbox booths are modular furniture, not building structures. There is no drilling into walls, no cable routing and no re-planning permits. The booth plugs into a standard 220 V socket and is not fixed to the floor, walls or ceiling. The office keeps working during installation — no dust, no construction work.

Where is the best place to put a booth — and where should you not?

Accepted Answer

A booth needs a flat, solid floor and a 220 V socket nearby — that is all. It works best next to the work zones that lack quiet: the edge of the open space, a call area, a corridor between departments. Avoid placing it hard against the only evacuation exit, under ceiling air-conditioning diffusers (they interfere with the booth's own ventilation) or on soft, uneven flooring. The door must open freely. As part of the quote we propose a placement plan for your floor layout, so the booths cause no congestion and see maximum use.

How much does a booth weigh — will a standard floor take it?

Depending on the model, a booth weighs roughly from 230 kg (Solo Lite) to 600 kg (Quartet). The weight is spread across the whole base area, so the load per square metre stays within what a standard office floor in a business centre is built to carry. For the upper floors of older buildings or raised-access floors, send us the slab type — we will check it and recommend the best placement. The booth is not fixed to the floor, so it does not damage the finish.

Can I assemble the booth myself, and what do I need for it?

Yes — two people with no prior experience assemble a booth in 60 to 120 minutes using the clear step-by-step guide the manager provides with the booth. Usually a basic kit is enough: hex keys (included), a screwdriver, and a level — no specialist power tools required. Installation by the Silentbox team is also available.
