An acoustic booth is an investment for years to come. For it to pay off and solve your specific problem, choosing the right model matters. Here is what to look at, step by step.
1. Insulation rating (dB)
The headline figure. The Premium series delivers 35 dB to the ISO 11957 standard — certified confidentiality: a conversation inside cannot be heard a metre away from the booth. The Lite series offers 25 dB, which is enough to dampen speech noise and provide visual privacy, but not full confidentiality.
- 35 dB (Premium) — confidential negotiations, banks, legal consultations
- 25 dB (Lite) — calls, video conferences, focus in open-plan spaces
2. Capacity
Solo — 1 person (phone booth). Duet — 2 people (compact meeting room). Quartet — 4 people (team meetings). WorkPod — a workstation for 1–2 people. Choose according to the scenario: calls, pair work or a whole team.
3. Ventilation
A critical yet often underestimated parameter. A dedicated 250–600 m³/h system with a presence sensor fully refreshes the air every 2–3 minutes. Without proper ventilation a booth becomes stuffy within 10 minutes. Fan noise should stay below 30 dB, otherwise it undoes the insulation.
4. Installation and mobility
A good booth is a piece of modular furniture, not a building structure. Installation without drilling walls, without dust and without permits. Solo assembles in 2–3 hours, Quartet in 4–5. When the office moves, the booth can be dismantled and taken along.
5. Warranty
Look at the terms per component: the structure — 10 years, the electronics — 5 years, moving parts — 3 years. And check that local service is available in your country.
The right booth pays for itself not through its price but through quiet: studies show that after an interruption a worker needs an average of 23 minutes to return to the task.
